The Fifth Evangel

My God! I don't know what's more terrifying: Hawking the DJT edition of the King James Bible [1] as the harbinger of novel Revelation, the "Made in China" note under the ISBN [2], its intricately illuminated marginalia, or the fact that a grainy recording of "God Bless The USA" plays in a loop, like a Hallmark birthday card, at every page turn.

For what it's worth, here's an unpopular observation.

Although one is in famously rich and the other famously poor, the Sermon on the Mount does not effectively support the argument that Trump is fundamentally antithetical to Jesus, given that these two main-characters both rely on a similar blend of flabby compassion to sway the more gullible populations of their flocks while warning apostate bystanders with augurs of insurrection or hell, respectively. Is it not conceivable to imagine that Evangelical Christians and their derivative religious cohorts are more susceptible to Trump’s messianic claims of prosperity gospel if naturally preconditioned to take things on faith rather than reason?

(This was drawn about a month before the Trump-endorsed Bible blessed the world. Probably a sign to lay off the holy wine for numinous inspiration...)
