Well then... I guess it's up to us.
The half-life of Republican House Speakers and their head-spinning congressional electrons has gotten logarithmically shorter. Kevin McCarthy's ousting was top-of-the-docket for congressman Gaetz and it now appears that Speaker Mike Johnson, his replacement, is in the MTG crosshairs.
This Republican Congress has rendered it virtually impossible for legislation to safely cross from one side of the Capitol building to the other. With these "motion to vacate" proclamations uttered every few months, paired with free-radical Republicans and Libertarians blocking bill after bill, I wonder if the Senate will ever need the filibuster again!
I submit that the best course of action to keep democracy alive is to vote these nincompoops out of office so that we can — once more — get back to watching long winded filibusters on C-Span.
